Good Evening..
As we continue to move into summer -- more things come along that we can join in on.. I hope to continue to add to our new Calendar which we will add as an attachment.. it seems the best way so far..
I hope you had a chance to go to the Club Hamfest a week ago... We had a record number of attendees of 265!! And some good vendors.. The "trunk sales " in the back parking lot filled all the spaces and we had to extend it six more spaces into the parking area.. And talking about the parking area,.. Our great team of "parkers" said the parking area was filled before the event even began... We even had folks from the U.P. come in ... IF you attend the Club meeting on Thursday, you will hear how we did financially...
The Brat Barn also was one of our best financially as well.. It must be the cool weather ...
As you see, I am giving the new email another try... I hope all the spelling errors are taken care of.. if not let me know..
The folks at the Kewaunee Pierhead Lighthouse are having an Open House on Saturday the 14th. Couple of radio operators will be there doing an activation.. IF you happen to go there, come up to the Radio Room and say hi or get you fist around the microphone (could not say mike because there will be a Mike up there) If you are interested in doing something like this, let me know because there will be four more opportunities there.. This lighthouse is one of a few that let people climb to the top where the lantern is... bring your camera.. It is a nice walk on the pier ..
But tomorrow, Wednesday the 11th, There will be a Siren Test Net. You will find a list of the sirens that have yet to be checked as an attachment.. If you can spare some time, go to one of them, check into the net between 11:45 and Noon, and then after the siren is activated, check back in to Net Control and report if the siren had sound, rotated or if the disk inside turned .. of course the old sirens do not move.. The report goes to the Emergency Management Dept. .. if any are in need of repair this is where it is reported.. thanks in advance..
Thursday is the Club Meeting. which will spend some time on Field Day information... In fact, Starting with the Tech Talk, it will continue into the meeting .. In a sense, it starts at 6:30... there will have hands on the logging software and how it works... maps showing where the antenna layout is .. as well as times of gathering for breakfast (if you want), setting up, some of the rules, times for the Field Day Pot Luck dinner, and answers to most questions..
If you did not get the latest June Calendar in the last email, let me know and I can send it again.. CQ Tuesday is the 19th...
