147.360 repeater

The 147.360 repeater is back on the air as of this weekend. This repeater is located at Bellin Hospital. We also installed the battery backup in both the 147.360 and 147.120 repeater controllers.

Ham of the Year

Congratulations to Keith Summers for being this years Ham of the Year. The award was handed out at last nights banquet. We had about 20 people attend.

March of Dimes Walk

The March of Dimes Walk America will be on Saturday April 30th, starting @ 9 AM. There will be a 1 & 3 mile route. Rest stops will be at Canteberry Park & Glass Nickel Pizza on Ridge Rd. Three to four volunteers are needed to man rest stops & serve as NCS for this event.

SK: Harlan Sieth, NQ9F, 87

Harlan was born on January 30, 1924 and passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011.

Harlan P. Sieth, age 87, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at Care Partners in Little Chute following a brief illness. Harlan was born January 30, 1924, in Appleton to the late Edgar and Mabel (Junge) Sieth. He was a graduate of Appleton High School’s class of 1942. Harlan Proudly served his country during WWII in the Army. He received his Bachelors from the University of Wisconsin Madison where he served as First Lieutenant in the ROTC. He then went on to receive two Masters Degrees at the University of Illinois in Chicago.

After graduating college, Harlan worked as an electrical engineer for Northrop Grumman for 32 years, retiring in 1989. In February of 1946, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Hoffman. In June of 1975, he was married to Mary Jane Brault. Harlan was a lifelong member of Appleton VFW Post #2778. He held an amateur radio license and enjoyed the many friends he met through the years working with his radio.


Harlan purchased and converted all of those EF Johnson UHF radios back in the late 80's & early 90's, so Mike & Key members could use the 443.500 MHz repeater.

Weather Spotter Training
The annual weather spotters training is going to be held at St. Norbert.s College on April 6th at 7 PM in Boyle Hall. If you wish to participate in weather spotting this spring and summer please plan to attend

Brat Barn
We have three dates this year for the brat barn at Festival Foods, the dates are as follows:

The first one is Saturday April 23 at Festival Foods East.

The second date is Sunday June 5th at Festival Foods in Suamico

The third is Saturday June 18th at Festival Foods in Suamico

Setup usually starts around 9am. We need people to setup and people to man the booth all day long.

If anyone wants to head up the brat barn please feel free to let me know.
