****A personal observation… After I moved some of the radio gear around to hopefully make it look neater, I found that the FLdigi software no longer controlled my radio as far as setting the frequency. And more recently, the same for using Winlink.. I remembered a long time ago I had a similar problem with a laptop.  But sometimes it worked but not always.. found that it worked- when plugged into the same USB slot .. The computer I am using for my radio stuff has 10 USB slots.

I started to move the cable from the radio to each of the slots.. Found the right one on slot #7.. Two ways I knew it was right. . the radio responded to the frequency change . . but when I looked at the name that showed up on the speaker icon on the bottom right side of the screen it said “7-7300 Codac” .. I remembered that when I first set up – I went to the Sound control in the Settings and changed the name of the speaker and the microphone. So only when the cable is plugged into that slot does it say that..

That’s it for this email/ Newsletter.…

A radio operator in Lower Michigan would always end his transmission with: “There are no bad days, just that some days are better than others”
