Greetings,
If you were at the Hamfest on Saturday you know it was a great time!
Our guests came early and most stayed much longer than usual so they
could be eligible for the Grand Prize and 50/50 drawings. The perfect
weather was a key factor in the packed tail gate area and the food was
another big part of our overall success. Our attendee count was the
highest ever at 295! (Last year the number was 265.) The club profit
totaled $2,425!
This outstanding event came as a result of a lot of dedication and hard
work put in by many volunteers. Parking, ticket sales, dessert baking,
food sales, ticket printing, set-up, clean-up, PA system, club sales,
50/50 ticket sales, front table operations, prize solicitation, testing,
facility rental, publicity, and members who donated equipment for sale
at the club table. Other important factors are the annual Hamfest
button, controlling cash, table sales, and door prize management.
If that sounded like a long list…it’s because it takes all of these
components to make our Hamfest an enjoyable experience for our
guests and a profitable one for our club. A BIG thank you to everybody
who worked to make this Hamfest so special. Particular thanks to the
two club members who volunteered to manage all of this …Todd,
W9GRB and Dave, KD9HJJ.
Another super job! We’ll talk about it the club meeting on June 11.
Hope to see you there.
73,
Bill
