Ham of the Year… I have been honored
to have been chosen a number of times

with all the newsletters, it makes it too
easy to submit. There are a lot of
members that need to be awarded that
have been overlooked..
Members are asked to submit a
nomination for Ham of the Year.. This
person needs to be a member in good
standing. When submitting the
nomination, put in their name, call sign
and the reason you feel that person
should be given that award.. Do not just
submit a name and call. Submit your
nomination to Robert, KA9BXG at
ka9bxg@gmail.com before March 9th
To help you… think about the person
that helped with the Wis.QSO Party, the
Ham Fest, Field Day, Brat Barns,
Banquet or mentored a new Ham ETC..

DUES ARE DUE:
Last notice… maybe..
RADIO. I have been seeing a lot of activity this
Winter in the effort of designing new
antennas.. It almost looks as if the End
Fed is starting to take the lead.. It is a
great idea.. Hanging the coax from the
middle of the dipole makes you try to
set up a support there… or even the Off
Center Fed gives a chance to shorten
the coax length by getting the tie-in
point closer to the radio.
By having the end of the antenna
almost anywhere to make the
connection gives quite a option. And to
slope it or even zig zag it to fit the area.
Has anyone out there compared the
difference from a straight wire to a zig
zag using Wspr to graph it? Do you
loose distance or do you gain area
covered?
Don’t know what Wspr is? a good
analysis tool.
Here is a link to see..
https://www.wsprnet.org/drupal/wsprnet/map You can use this freeware.. I
use it to check my antenna on each
band. Questions?
