Winter Happenings

The annual nominations for the board is in progress.  Encourage someone you know to run for the board.  Or consider it yourself.   Now is also the time to submit written by law changes.  (To be vited on at the Annual Meeting)

Also the Home Brew contest is in progress.   Work building something over these winter months (ends in March)  the winners get to go the banquet free.  There are two categories; from a Kit, and from Scratch.  You must be able to demonstrate it.  Paid members only.


November 4th is the Fox Cities Amateur Radio Club hamfest held at Monarch Gardens.


December 1st there will be a special event station (K9P) at Packer's stadium, to celebrate the 100th season of the Packers.  Tom, K9EDD is the chairperson.  1400utc to 1900utc. 14.270 14.035 7.270 7.035 146.495 simplex. QSL in QRZ, Dec.QST and in ARRL.org website. 



December 8th there will be a Ham Cram and testing session.  Study begins at 9am with the testing at 3pm.  Gehl-Mulva Science Center, Room 4092 St. Norbert College.



The annual Green Bay Mike and Key Club Christmas party. It will be held December 13th at the Legion post on North Irwin St.

Get together will be at 5 with dinner at 6. Please bring a dish to pass and your own table gear. The club will provide soda. If you require adult beverages please bring them.

We will hold the white elephant gift exchange again this year, so bring a slightly used gift to exchange .

Radio Happenings

Saturday & Sunday, June 23 -24th Field Day Pine Tree Park in Hobart just West of the Airport... same place as last year.

Saturday, June 30th, Brat Barn at Festival on University. We will need help from 9AM to 5PM.. can you spare a hour or two?  You benefit from the funds raised....  or stop by and enjoy a brat or burger or a story or two..

KC9THF, Donna Mendyke, Treasurer for the Fox Cities Radio Club, is asking for radio help for the upcoming Bike to the Beat on Aug. 4th. The event is from 7 to 2. Riders come up into the Lost Dauphin park area (W. De Pere) and then go back to the Fox Cities area. You will only need your hand held radio tuned to the .760 repeater.. Also on August 4th, we will be setting up to operate Lighthouses On The Air special event station at the Green Bay Yachting Club. Start setting up at 8AM and operating at 9am to 1Pm..   Come out..

 The GBMK Club Picnic is August 25th. It will be where we were last year -- Osprey Park, an Isaac Walton League area.  A very nice area--. GV/Monroe Road - the road is right across from the U Haul dealer there..

Spotter Training and the Banquet

March 24th is the Mike & Key Annual Banquet. The Banquet will be at the Woods. Chicken and Tips is on the menu.

For those in need of an update on Skywarn Storm Spotter Training, there will be an opportunity Tue, May 1 from 7:00pm – 8:30pm.  This will be at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, 2420 Nicolet Dr, Green Bay, WI 54311, MAC Hall, Room 210

And  for those looking to get into the hobby the club will be holding a Ham Cram on April 28th at St. Norbert.  Testing will be at 3:00pm for all licenses.
