November 11th Siren Test Net
November 12th Tech Talk 6:30... Annual Meeting 7PM
November 16 th Fox Hunt 5:30pm til ? 147.120
Greetings,
Are you planning to come to the club meeting this Thursday evening? Be sure to arrive by 6:30 so you won’t miss the Tech Talk. This month it will be presented by Rick, W9OBB who will be going over some important Ham Radio basics. Be ready to learn and be entertained!
I sure hope you’ll be at this meeting because this is the Annual Meeting where we will elect our directors for the coming year. We will also vote on a change to the bylaws that if approved, would extend the directors terms of office from one year to two starting with the year 2027. You will also be selecting the 2025 Ham of the Year. By the way, your decision on Ham of the Year will be difficult as the list of nominees is excellent.
After we complete all the voting, we’ll go over the details of the plan to relocate the 147.360 repeater to a Brown County tower near Champion and New Franken. This is a significant effort that will result in greatly improved coverage for our back-up repeater. Equipment, costs, schedule, and contract will all be addressed with the goal of project approval by the members.
Another important agenda item will be our Christmas Holiday Party which is set for Friday December 12 at the Village Grille. Sam, W9SJR will tell us all about it.
I look forward to seeing you Thursday evening. Your participation is always important in defining the direction of our club and this annual meeting with the election and voting on the .360 project makes this meeting even more important.
One more thing…Last year we had the opportunity to do some good for our community by ringing the bell at the Salvation Army kettle at the University Festival. This came as a short notice activity and we still had good participation. This year we have been contacted in advance and have the option to ring on either December 6 from 1:00 to 8:00 PM or the 13th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. These time frames will be broken up into shifts based on the number of people who volunteer. Both days are Saturdays. I’ll circulate a sign-up sheet at the meeting.
As always, please contact me with any suggestions or questions about our club.
73,
Bill
