RAdio Happenings AGAIN.

Just some more radio events reminders. .. I used to post all the "important " reminders on the refrigerator but after a while realized I needed a plan to take them down after the event because I forgot to go to  them... HI..

Last weekend, some of our members activated the Kewaunee Pierhead Lighthouse. The radio conditions could have been better but the camaraderie of the group helped make the day go by... Also thanks to the operator that brought his  QRP rig out. Maybe he can be persuaded to bring it to a  tech talk and show what a small but usable package it could be made into..  . The weather was ideal on the pier and  there were a lot of visitors that stopped by on the way to Door County.    The next chance to set up there will be in the middle of July.  A perfect place to be in July..

The Lighthouse is in the process of being restored..  this is the old Radio Room.. With Larry k9IQ, Mike W9MWP, Bill K3KYH (taking the photo) and Dave N8KQS.. Operating a Kenwood 570 into a 19 foot vertical 40 feet above Lake Michigan..

The other reminder is this Saturday, June 21st -- Another Club Brat Barn at the DePere Festival Foods on Main Street W.De Pere.  Workers needed from 9AM to 5PM..

******      Then to round off your radio weekend.. On Sunday June 22nd -- we have  the FOX HUNT   Starting at 5:30PM tune to 147.555 SPLX  Find the Fox...

Still searching for that radio accessory?   Also on  Saturday, June 21st, is the FVARC Swap Meet (Hamfest) .  Their flyer is attached below.  With it are other vendor information....
A week away, June 28th and 29th, is the Annual ARRL Field Day
Inline imageAn annual opportunity to practice emergency communications away from home for 24 hours.  And you can be a part of it... We will start on SATURDAY around 8:30AM - gathering (if you want) at the Oak Street Cafe' in W DePere, a block North of the Festival Foods. for "breakfast",,, then leaving there to arrive around 10AM at Osprey Point Park, off of Cty GV.... The drive way is across from the U-Haul rental place.. Watch  for our banner (if it gets there before you) ..
We will begin to set up. . putting up antenna, pulling coax, setting up four radio stations, (bring your radio especially if you are going to operate CW ..) preparing for the 1PM start time... where we begin the "CQ CQ Field Day.. this is K9EAM calling CQ.""        Around 5:30PM we will gather around and have a Pot Luck Dinner .. the Club will be having some Brats there.. Please Bring a Dish To Pass...
It is planned to be able to operate through the night.. so if you cannot sleep, or getting off of a work shift,  come on down..  The event ends at 1PM on Sunday.... So we need to take every down and stored and "police the area".  Be sure to dress for the weather and insects.  Please remember to not put insect repellent on your hands or spray near the radios or laptops...  or wash you hands before operating.. (just like the doctor)Emoji

If you lose this email, you can see the above on our web site K9EAM.org in a few days ..

       Stay Radio Active.......
