Are you confused as I am when it comes to filling in the date on some of the QSL cards? Should the year come first or the month? When looking for the answer online, I get both as right..but depending on the area of the world you are dealing with. If I am lucky, I get their card or certificate first and go by that.. Sort of a copy cat. .
To repeat myself, it is definitely a busy time of year in radio.. With conventions, hamfests, special events... it all becomes a swirl .. Oh I forgot Brat Barns. Yesterday on the 24th, the Club hosted a Brat Barn at the De Pere Festival store and did quite well. . a little over $1,000 in profit for the coffers. (coffers = Overall, a coffer symbolizes a place of safekeeping for valuables) Thanks to all that helped and those that came to purchase some of the product. .

Coming up>> This coming weekend> Friday May 30th- Setting up for our Hamfest !... all hands on deck- 4PM You are needed to help set up the hall for the Hamfest.. Setting up tables, chairs, helping the key vendor bring in their items, preparing the parking and trunk sales areas. Our Saviour Lutheran Church area. 120 Henry and Deckner, East Side of Green Bay..
HAMFEST Saturday, May 31st.. Volunteers for all areas should show up at 5:30AM.. Vendors are coming at 6AM to set up their areas.
The weather on Friday is to be warm w/possible showers..so prepare accordingly.. Saturday is looking good with no rain and perfect temps;. You can come and look over the 'goodies" and find something you did not know you needed.. There will be a Club table set up with items from the club. We do not need to store things that we do not need as a Club.. Make an offer!! Everything sold off that table the funds all go to the Club. The Yaesu DX3000D will be one of the items. . IF you listen to the .120 repeater on a windy day, you may have encountered some "breaking up" of the signal. We may have to hire a climber to check all the connections on the hard line to the antenna and funds will be needed for that...
AND POOOF, before you know it, June12th is here with the next Club meeting.. The Tech Talk and Club meeting in June will highlight Field Day... N8KQS will show some of the highlights of the N3FJP logging software that we will be using so we can be more comfortable with it. W9WES will cover the rules and other nuts and bolts of the event...as well as some things that may be different in our setting up...*** a couple of weeks later, we can gather together for the Annual ARRL Field Day event. Mark your calendars.. June 28-29.. at Osprey Point Park, off of GV. As in the past, those that want to, can gather for breakfast or just a coffee at the Oak Street Cafe' in W.De Pere, then head out to set up. There will be a lot more information coming out as it comes closer.. but get your gear ready. A good time to try out some of your field set ups. The Committee has scoped out the park and has marked out antenna locations as so not to interfere with others.. Someone said "Old Mike will be at Field Day" and sent a picture...
Someone checked into the East Coast Reflector.. They reciprocated by sending us a link to their newsletter.. very impressive!! Worth your time to look it over. Here is a link to it...
What do you think? Should we post a copy of the others when they come in? or will you subscribe on your own.. ??
